Points to Keep in Mind Before Downloading Chase Bank Statements to QuickBooks

  • Check the file size that you are trying to download and make sure the size doesn’t exceed 350 KB

  • Cross-check the file format you are trying to upload and ensure it is supported, such as QBO. If the format is not supported, then you will get an error message that states “ The File is not a Proper web Connect File.”

  • If your oldest transaction in the file is before the opening balance date in the register, the dates and opening balance will be updated. A duplicate balance entry will be sent along with it

Note:- QuickBooks Database Server Manager manages multi-user access, hosts company files, and ensures proper communication between QuickBooks clients and the server.

Step 2: Via web connect

  • Go to the Chase Online Banking page to log in

  • Choose the Customer Center > scroll down to Reference Centre

  • Click on the link  “Activate Money, Quicken, etc.”

  • Select the Download Now option to generate a QuickBooks OFX-formatted file > click to Continue

  • Now you are required to choose an account for downloading the transactions, and select the date range

  • Select the QuickBooks radio button > the QB version under the drop-down menu > hit on Export

  • If prompted, click the Save button, > pick the destination folder to save the file. Intuit recommends that you save the file on your screen

  • Locate the target folder, where the OFX-formatted file is stored. Modify the name of the file to “Filename.qbo” (including the quotation marks), where the filename is the name of the file you downloaded. QuickBooks Web Connect only recognizes QBO-formatted files; therefore, this step is required

  • Launch QuickBooks on your system

  • Click on the File menu and open the Utilities, Import, and Web Connect Files

  • Look for the OFX file you downloaded from Chase Online on your system.

  • When prompted in the “Select Bank Account” window > choose “Use an existing QuickBooks account” > pick your account under the drop-down list. Select “Create a new QuickBooks account” and give it a name if your account isn’t available. Click on Continue

  • Under Online Banking, move to My Shortcuts and open the downloaded transactions
